Joint Statement

As part of our ongoing efforts to protect the interests of blockchain innovation in Europe and as a follow-up to our Data Act Open Letter Campaign, we would like to address the latest circulated Data Act proposal through this Joint Statement. We continue to advocate for a balanced and conducive regulatory environment that fosters innovation while safeguarding user interests.

At present, the Data Act includes provisions that outline the definition of smart contracts for data sharing and their fundamental requirements. We believe it is crucial to engage in open and constructive discussions to thoroughly examine the implications of the proposed legislative text on our rapidly evolving industry. By doing so, we can identify areas that require improvement and work towards achieving clarity in the regulatory framework.

We seek an opportunity to engage in dialogue with relevant stakeholders to address our concerns and collectively progress toward a regulatory framework that supports innovation, ensures user protection, and promotes the continued growth of the blockchain industry.
